What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Clerk position at Amsted Rail Company?
Duties
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipment with customers, vendors, carriers, and various internal groups.
- Studies shipping and receiving processes for effectiveness.
- Documents shipping or receiving information.
- Completes reports for management.
- Ensures products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received in an efficient manner.
- Prepares or reviews distribution documents.
- Liaison with customers, suppliers and carriers.
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
- Assists with inventory management and physical inventories.
- Use SAP to manage, analyze and report on inventory receipts and usage.
- Generate shipping schedules.
- Create and distribute shipping documents from SAP.
- Enter ASN’s through customers’ websites.
- Interact with union employees/shipping department.
- Maintain and distribute end of day reports.
- Greet and direct all incoming visitors to the facility.
- Answer all operator routed phone calls.
- Performs other assigned duties as determined by the supply chain manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite software
- Front office experience.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
Perferred Qualifications
- Bilingual - Spanish
- Experience with SAP
- Previous experience in a industrial manufacturing shipping and receiving role.
- Associates degree in logistics or related field.
