AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Transportation Engineer to join our growing Transportation team of design professionals in our Charlotte, NC office.

\n- Support a variety of projects which may involve the collection of data, assessing existing conditions, and alternative evaluation -analysis for engineering reports developed for NCDOT as well as local Municipalities
- Development of horizontal and vertical alignments, perform template drops and develop a 3D model of roadways, cut cross-sections, calculate super-elevation, produce transportation infrastructure plans, and calculate quantities for highway projects
- Ability to assist other AMT offices with highway design
- Development of Work Zone Traffic Control Plans (WZTC), Signing, and Pavement Marking Plans
- BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Engineering-in-Training Certification (or ability to obtain in 6-12 months) preferred
- Prior internship or work experience preferred, experience with Municipal or North Carolina Department of Transportation projects is a plus
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Bentley Microstation/InRoads or Open Roads Designer (ORD) is preferred
- Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction surveying concepts preferred
- Experience with MS Office products including Word and Excel
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
