The Engineering Technician role is a support position for the engineering organization at AMT. Primary responsibilities include yield and productivity improvement initiatives, process control maintenance, new product development, engineering trials, and technical support to the manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities
- Support and work closely with manufacturing personnel and processes.
- Perform slurry testing and monitoring.
- Administer PCS Review Meeting.
- Support the Process Control Program by auditing it on the shop floor, collecting data from it, and reporting on it.
- Support the Master Heat Qualification process by tracking and progressing master heat testing to completion.
- Work closely with Operations, Quality, Sales, and Engineering.
- Increase operational productivity through tooling, processes, and methods improvements.
- Support NPD (New Product Development) as needed with direction from Engineering personnel.
- Support EPD (Existing Product Development) trials as needed with direction from Engineering personnel.
- Support tooling builds and modifications as needed with direction from Engineering personnel.
- Maintain and update necessary tracking logs to reflect trial status and timeline.
- Maintain and update necessary digital and paper records using Office suite and ERP system.
- Report on assigned tasks to manager(s) and leadership as required.
- Learn, perform, and train others on manufacturing operations such as straightening, grinding, heat treating, punch press die changeover, wax tool die changeover, etc.
- Develop and document methodologies for part specific work instructions.
- Develop and document methodologies for general process instructions.
- Interpret, review, and analyze specifications, blueprints, drawings, part and tooling models.

Reporting
- Reports to the Engineering Manager
- Works closely with all organizational functions including Operations, Quality, and Sales.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Monday - Friday, ~7AM – 3:30PM
- 100% on site.
- The position splits time between a manufacturing environment and an office environment. The ratio of time spent in each area will vary. Regular daily shop floor time is expected.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
