Director of Quality

Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing Quality Assurance (QA) functions at ARO, ensuring products meet customer requirements, are stable, and perform predictably. Acts as the ISO 9000 Management Representative, manages audits, and serves as the primary contact with government representatives on quality matters. Leads configuration management, supplier coordination, calibration systems, and product analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead problem-solving efforts related to process, supplier, and customer quality issues.
• Supervise Quality Manager, Auditing, and Configuration Management teams.
• Develop and implement Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, and SPC activities.
• Collect data to address and resolve quality issues.
• Oversee corrective/preventive action systems to prevent recurrence of deficiencies.
• Coordinate with customers and government on quality specifications.
• Manage quality assurance budgets and track program progress.
• Coordinate ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
• Manage configuration, contract review, supplier quality, in-process assurance, testing, and calibration programs.
• Ensure timely evaluation and integration of QA requirements in contracts.
• Maintain ethical standards and adhere to client business conduct policies.

Qualifications:

• Strong judgment, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure with flexibility and creativity.
• Proven track record of driving change and improving processes.
• Experience in challenging long-standing standards for growth and improvements.
• 5 years of DoD contract experience.
• BS degree (preferably in Engineering) and 5-10 years of QA experience, with 3-5 years in management.
• Knowledge of government specifications and ISO 9000.
• Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to interface effectively with all employees.
