Summary
The Senior Design Engineer conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals and existing designs for hydraulic products by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes proposed product specifications, in conjunction with the Project Engineer, to determine feasibility of product proposal
- Prepares product, component, or system layout
- Prepares detailed drawings and schematics, including revision changes to drawings.
- Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Confers with Project Engineer and other engineering personnel to prepare design modifications as required.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment of perform engineering and design tasks.
- Keeps area clean according to 5S standards.
- Follows all safety rules as set by the company.
Education and/or Experience:
An Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent form two-year college or technical school; BSME preferred; five to ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of general design and drafting of mechanical equipment, prefer knowledge of aerospace equipment, especially hydraulic components or systems.
- Ability to perform basic calculations such as weight, stress, and spring design.
- Above average oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; strong PC skills, knowledge of Solidworks.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
