Job Summary:
The Machinist III will typically perform the tasks of programming and operating CNC mills and lathes, as well as operating other common shop equipment, and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models to produce unique, high-precision parts. Program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC Mills, CNC Mill-turns, and other manual machinery. Other duties may be assigned as circumstances dictate. These duties will primarily be done in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
ASG team members must have a good work ethic, be teachable, and be a good team player. Having a solutions-oriented mindset with a positive attitude, a strong desire to learn and improve, and a willingness to ask questions and seek help when needed is important. Additionally, applicants for this position:
- Must have minimum 2 years training / education at technical school / college, graduating in a relevant discipline such as Machine Tool Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, etc.
- Relevant work experience may be substituted
- Must have minimum 5 years work experience operating CNC and manual mills / lathes in a relevant work environment
- Must have experience programming (e.g. G-Code, conversational quick code, and CAD/CAM software) and setting up CNC mills / lathes
- Training and experience with Multi Axis CNC operation, setup, and programming is a plus
- Must have a general working knowledge of computers and be generally functional in Microsoft Office and working with files
- Must be willing to work overtime, if necessary
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
- Must be able to listen to, speak, read, write and understand English
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Demonstrated leadership skills, the ability to work with limited supervision, and to supervise others are a plus
- Additional education, training, or certifications in closely related disciplines is a plus
- Experience or training in SurfCAM, CAM or CAD is a plus
- Experience in fabrication, mechanical assembly, and manufacturing is a plus
- Experience working in an ISO9001/AS9100 environment is a plus
