Job Title: Material Planner
Pay Rate: $30-$36/hr

Position Summary:
As a Material Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and orders from entry to shipment. You’ll be responsible for maintaining visibility and control over the backlog, coordinating with multiple departments, and resolving potential issues to meet production schedules and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison with Contracts to manage the loading and lead times of new sales orders.
- Monitor and manage the sales backlog for assigned planner codes, ensuring timely delivery of all parts through Receiving and Shipping departments.
- Prioritize material handling based on schedule requirements and department workload.
- Coordinate the purchase and planning of materials to meet production schedules, including expediting orders, rescheduling, and managing outside processing.
- Generate work orders and purchase orders based on MRP messages, negotiating prices and deliveries to align with schedule needs.
- Review MRP order action messages, maintain schedules, and resolve issues to ensure on-time shipments.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving on-time deliveries of quality products, addressing special requests, and planning recovery for potential delays.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve production or material-related challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Required).
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in Planning.
- 5 years of experience in production control, material/inventory management, or a related field within the defense or aerospace industry.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (JDE experience is a plus; SAP knowledge is desirable).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and computerized MRP systems.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing needs, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with machine shop practices, military/commercial standards, and production processes is helpful.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret diagrams, graphs, and schedules.
