Summary Objectives:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for devising and optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing production efficiency, and facilitating product quality. You will also lead and advise engineers, production technicians, and other staff in manufacturing methods and solutions. Typical daily activities include:
- Development of engineering and manufacturing processes and procedures across the SFS division
- Design of manufacturing fixtures and other apparatus using SolidWorks CAD tools, and programming of different machines (lasers, plotters, and CNC equipment) using CAM systems
- Analyzes problems and makes project and product decisions at a level appropriate for the position
- Reviews and approves work of others as appropriate for the position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Process Optimization: Analyze and improve manufacturing processes for semiconductor equipment and consumables to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high quality standards.

Project Management: Lead and participate in projects aimed at process improvements, new product introductions, and equipment upgrades. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve manufacturing issues related to equipment performance, process deviations, and product quality. Collaborate with production team members to implement effective solutions.

Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive data-driven decisions. Generate reports and present findings to management.

Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and processes.

Documentation: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation for the company’s business process manual. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Training: Provide training and support to production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent experience.

3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in semiconductor, medical, or related high-cleanliness and high-tech industries.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, additive manufacturing, laser cutting/engraving, vinyl plotter use, etc.), lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).

Proficient in using CAD software (SolidWorks), CAM software, and ERP systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or co-workers.

Ability to write articles for publication and presentation that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to co-workers, management, and the general public.

The ability to produce instruction documents to clearly communicate information to technicians, field service engineers, etc. who are building or installing products for the business.

Ability to effectively coach other staff members, resolve problems, and escalate as appropriate and necessary.
