Job Summary:
The Work Package Planner will be responsible for supporting the execution of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) processes on electrical construction projects. This role involves coordinating with various departments, such as engineering, procurement, scheduling and construction, to develop Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and ensure smooth execution at the worksite. The Work Package Planner will focus on aligning project plans with the site conditions, ensuring that the necessary tools, materials, and resources are available for field execution.
Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) Process Implementation:
- Develop and implement AWP strategies for electrical construction projects.
- Coordinate with construction teams to create IWPs.
- Ensure that all work packages are in line with the overall project schedule and construction plans.
- Consistently implement Company AWP Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Work Package Planning:
- Break down construction work into executable IWPs that are ready for field crews.
- Ensure the availability of materials, equipment, tools, and permits for work packages before releasing them to the field.
- Monitor and adjust work packages based on site conditions and project changes.

Collaboration and Coordination:
- Coordinate between field supervisors, construction crews, and other departments (engineering, Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), procurement, etc.) to ensure IWPs are accurate and complete.
- Work closely with the project scheduler to align IWPs with the project’s overall schedule.
- Participate in daily/weekly coordination meetings to provide updates on work package progress and resolve issues.

Progress Tracking and Reporting:
- Track the progress of IWPs and provide status updates to the project team.
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure timely execution of work packages.
- Update the project team on work package completions, delays, or modifications.

Documentation and Continuous Improvement:
- Maintain documentation of all work packages and revisions for future reference and audits.
- Proactively seek ways to improve AWP processes for future projects by capturing lessons learned and implementing best practices.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant technical certifications or diplomas in electrical work or project management are a plus.

Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction planning, preferably within the electrical contracting industry.
- Working knowledge of wiring methods and best practices.
- Possess up to date knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Knowledge of constructability in commercial and industrial environments.
- Prior experience with AWP methodologies is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in workface planning or field supervision in electrical construction projects preferred.

Skills:
- Strong understanding of electrical construction processes, scheduling, and project planning.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
- Working knowledge of wiring methods and best practices.
- Possess up to date knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and work plans.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Work Environment:
- This role is typically performed in an office environment with periodic visits to the construction site. However, this role may require extended periods of remote field-based travel, depending on project scope and team requirements.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
