Oracle Cloud DevOps / Automation

Location is Washington DC Area (50% Travel)
The OCI Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role requires a strong understanding of OCI services, infrastructure as code (IaC) principles, and automation tools. The Automation Engineer will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, configuration management, and other operational tasks.
Responsibilities :
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for OCI using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Python, and OCI CLI / SDK.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using IaC.
Develop CI / CD pipelines for automated application deployment to OCI.
Automate security and compliance tasks, such as security hardening and vulnerability scanning.
Create and maintain automation scripts, modules, and playbooks.
Integrate automation tools with other IT systems and platforms.
Monitor and troubleshoot automation processes.
Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify automation opportunities.
Contribute to the development of automation standards and best practices.
Stay up-to-date on the latest OCI services and automation tools.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3 years of experience in IT infrastructure automation or DevOps engineering.
1 years of hands-on experience automating OCI environments.
Strong understanding of OCI services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).
Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Experience with CI / CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Oracle Cloud certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations Associate) are a plus.
