What are the hours and pay?
1st Shift: 5:55AM-4PM Monday-Thursday, plus overtime as needed
- Base Pay $18.50 per hour depending on experience
What is the job?
Responsible and accountable for the welding operations of the production work area. This includes set up of equipment, fixtures and the quality of the product.
- Responsible to meet established rates
- Produce daily job assignment using QAD pick list
- Responsible for all set up including fixture set up
- Be responsible for quality of parts, dimensional plus visual
- Ensure the job is set up and run according to procedures (PDS)
- Follow all safety procedures: Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Equipment Safety Analysis (ESA) and Area Safety Analysis (ASA)
- Communicate with shift supervisor, tooling engineers and quality engineers
- Be capable of running your own operation - responsible for reporting (parts completion reports, downtime and scrap reports), SPC data when needed
- Interpret blueprints or written specifications for welding the product
- Maintain housekeeping in your work cell
- And other duties as assigned.
What do you bring to the job?
- High school graduate or equivalent (JVS welding school or Hobart welding a plus)
- Blueprint reading with basic knowledge of weld symbols
- Skills requiring oxygen and acetylene weld, some solder experience
- Understanding of metal joining through school and at least 1 year experience
- Have at least one year of experience in welding aluminum, stainless steel and mild steel
- Tig and Mig welding with some experience of stick weld
- Excitement to learn a new skill
- Tendency to follow set instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven team player
- Self-starter
- Strong work record in safety, quality, and dependability.

- Repeated lifting, packing of items (3 to 6 lbs.).
- Requires some heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs. of a non-repetitive nature.
- Work with sharp tools and sharp edges on parts.
- Attention to detail in inspection.
- Must work as part of a work team.
- Requires standing, walking and/or moving about for time periods in excess of one (1) hour.
- Requires some sort of repetitive turning and/or lifting motions to be performed.
- Work overtime as needed
- Work with pressure of meeting schedules, personnel issues, changing priorities.
- Basic computer/PC knowledge/skills preferred.
- Work with all levels of employees.
- Perform position requirements while wearing eye, foot and/or other protective devices as required.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn including but not limited to: eyes, ear, foot and/or other protective devices as required.
