What are the hours and pay?
1st Shift: 5:55AM-4PM Monday-Thursday, plus overtime as needed
- Base Pay $16.85-$18.50 perhour depending on experience
What is the job?
- Set up each job initially, including rearranging and setting up all equipment including screening equipment.
- Setting up the screen in the correct position, selecting the correct ink, putting the ink in the screen, assembling the tools needed to apply the ink (squeegee & back coater), and making sure everything is adjusted properly to the correct process listed on the process sheet.
- This includes each color required for the job.
- Run four to five test parts and visually check pieces to be sure there is an even coating of paint and that there are no bubbles, fish-eyes or other imperfections.
- When the process is considered ready, check a part according to the first piece approval procedure.
- Keep paint containers filled and check viscosity frequently to ensure the paint maintains the proper consistency.
- If adjustment is not possible, replace with new paint. Check for bubbles on the screens and if found, replace the paint or thin it down to eliminate the bubbles.
- Review the schedule and work with the scheduling department to ensure that jobs are scheduled in the most efficient manner within the constraints imposed by the customers.
- Assist supervision in controlling product quality and ensuring that the process runs smoothly.
- Troubleshoot as required and shut down the process if not producing good parts.
- Inform Process Control in advance of changeovers so they can adjust oven temperatures.
- Control clean room environmental conditions including pressure, humidity and room temperature.
- Set up and/or verify pre-bake oven belt speed and peak metal temperature as required.
- Set up and/or verify basecoat and topcoat set up by checking coating viscosity, coating film thickness and coater set up as required.
- Check airlocks for cleanliness, change tacky mats as required and follow all clean room procedures.
- Run Mek rubs, cross hatch, pencil hardness, reverse impact, t-bend tests, & color checks as specified.
- Verify cleanliness of room by inspecting with black light and report to supervision on room condition after cleaning.
- Do the initial set up of roll coaters by placing enddams, troughs and blades in place.
- Check temperature of coating, adjust coating to proper viscosity, set up coater to listed specification and adjust coater to obtain correct film thickness.
- Start up and shut down ovens using correct procedures to correct parameters.
- Record data from the particle counters.
- Has a secondary responsibility to control color by checking the color of the base coatings, the dial pads and small graphic inks.
- Complete period audit paperwork.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Other job duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Repeated lifting, packing of items (3 to 6 lbs.).
- Requires some heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs. of a non-repetitive nature.

- Must work as part of a work team.
- Requires standing, walking and/or moving about for time periods in excess of one (1) hour.
- Requires some sort of repetitive turning and/or lifting motions to be performed.
- Work overtime as needed
- Work with pressure of meeting schedules, personnel issues, changing priorities.
- Basic computer/PC knowledge/skills preferred.
- Work with all levels of employees.
- Perform position requirements while wearing eye, foot and/or other protective devices as required.
