What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Engineer Co-Op position at AmTrim?
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Tool Design Engineer and/or Tool Design Engineering Manager, the Tool Engineer Co-Op / Intern will provide fundamental Engineering services, and support the launch of new tools including dies, check fixtures, laser fixtures, glue fixtures and assembly fixtures. He/She will also assist in documentation and CAD related requirements pertaining to new product launches.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide documentation on new tools ( asset tags, photo documentation for customers, etc.)
- Perform time studies at tooling start up (run at rate)
- Propose potential process improvements based on time studies
- Support Tool Engineering department with customer relations in a professional manner
- Support engineering and operations through activities to improve product quality and operational consistency
- Create Auto-CAD drawings or NX Solid models as required
- Assist in any pre-production part runs, including but not limited to CPOT runs and PPAP runs
- Assist Quality, Operations & Tool Room personnel in any launch activities
- Develop and maintain supporting documents of activities in an organized manner for easy retrieval for review and consideration
