The Senior Underwriter administers the underwriting, servicing of renewal accounts for agents and producers assigned within the territory in compliance with company underwriting, authority, and pricing standards. This position may require servicing of new business in the future. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.
This position is hybrid out of our Scottsdale, Arizona office.
- Develop and maintain strong agency relationships and work closely with Underwriters, Sales, and Management to implement agency plans and share accountability in meeting territory goals.
- Provide support and coaching to the underwriting team and provide leadership on multiple products available to the team in order to quickly and effectively make risk decisions.
- Occasionally participate in industry events and travel to meet with agencies to support relationships as needed.
- Maintain strong product line and industry expertise and stay abreast of changes in markets.
- Other tasks, responsibilities and projects as needed.
- Keeps current with market trends and demands.
- Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Required:
- CPCU or CIC designation preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience with and expert technical knowledge of workers compensation risk selection, methods and pricing.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze data and make an informed, calculated risk decision
Preferred:
- 8 years of commercial line property and casualty experience
- Demonstrated experience with and expert technical knowledge of commercial casualty, property, automobile, risk selection, methods and pricing.
- Ability to make sound contributions to tactical and strategic planning
- Ability to train, coach and mentor individuals of various backgrounds within area of expertise
