Duties
- Lead the estimating team in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create and manage estimates efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
- Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
- Implement cost control measures to monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Oversee the preparation of bid proposals and ensure timely submission.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction techniques to enhance estimating accuracy.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior estimators within the team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating and management, with a strong understanding of construction site operations.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with contract terms and conditions related to construction projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
