What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Amundson Group?
Location – This position will work out of the Blythewood office in South Carolina (Columbia Area)
Relocation is possible if you are not in the Columbia South Carolina Area- package will be provided
The Estimator is responsible for development of comprehensive construction estimates for a site work development company, including, but not limited to: quantity takeoffs, subcontractor and supplier solicitation, production and crew analysis, technical and commercial proposal development, and project scheduling. A background in heavy civil will also be considered as long as there is experience in excavation and underground utilities.
Essential Functions
- Analysis of plans, specifications, and other related engineering documents.
- Computer-aided preparation of quantity take-offs, verification of site conditions, review of construction methods and equipment utilization.
- Responsible for timely, thorough and accurate take offs.
- Assist in preparing bid documents and developing construction schedules.
- Provide and compute production-based costs.
- Assist in preparing quality proposals for Ames Federal pursuits.
- Attending pre-bid site visits and investigations.
- Provide support and transition for successful projects to Operations.
- Instill Safety as a top priority.
- Ensure compliance with CMMC, FAR, and Accounting Standards in all Federal efforts.
Qualifications
- 3-7 years’ experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience is a preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated.
- Possess a positive attitude and excellent motivations skills
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to interface with owner representatives, engineering firms, subcontractors, other team members and senior management.
- Competent in the use of computer software applications including HCSS or similar estimating programs, Agtek or similar earthwork programs, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel, Tremble business center, P6, or bluebeam
- Knowledge in Primavera.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Time management, multitasking, and prioritization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
