Maintenance Technician

A trio of complexes is seeking a Maintenance Technician. We're looking for a friendly, outgoing team member who has previous experience and can offer extraordinary service. Qualifications include prompt and consistent attendance, unit turns, electrical, plumbing and appliance repairs, maintaining curb appeal and be willing to be on call. Applicant MUST have a valid driver’s license and must pass criminal, credit and drug screening. Tech will oversee three different apartment complexes, 71 apartments total. Complexes are located in Blackstone, Farmville & Appomattox.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
• Inspect and maintain building systems (heating/ac, ventilation etc.)
• Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
• Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
• Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations)
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations'
• Has own tools
• Has reliable transportation and valid Drivers License

Skills

• Proven experience as maintenance technician or similar role
• Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating/ac etc.)
• Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations
• Understanding of budgeting and performance management
• Maintain Curb appeal and grounds
• An eye for detail
• Complete unit make readies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma; Degree from a vocational school will be a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
