The Operational Maintenance Technician - C is responsible for the safe and environmentally sustainable inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance of the plant assets and all facility operations units at Amvac’s chemical manufacturing plant in Axis, AL.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying hazards to protect employees and the facility when installing, maintaining and repairing systems throughout the plant
- Inspect, repair, replace, rework and install plant equipment, valves, piping and various systems related to manufacturing operations and the facility
- Operate forklift, lull, man-lift, scissor-lift, and other equipment following all company and safety requirements
- Safely operate assorted hand tools including grinders, drill motors, power tools, pipe threader and various equipment required for work activities throughout the plant operations
- Preparation and removal of piping, valves, equipment and other process sub-assemblies to install new or repaired parts to maintain equipment in a functional state
- Participate in Emergency Response Team efforts where needed
- Assist with activities related to lifts, rigging, signaling, etc. to ensure safe lifting operations plant-wide
- Assist with operational activities including mechanical, electrical maintenance and contractor activities as required
- Comply with all regulatory, safety and environmental requirements
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, practices, and lawful directives
- Perform other assignments as necessary and directed by management
Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years of applicable experience in chemical and/or industrial plant operation preferred or has completed company-based training program
- Forklift and manlift certifications preferred
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs preferred
- Ability to perform minor maintenance
- Ability to physically meet the needs of the job to including climbing stairs, wearing respiratory protection, and safely lift at least 70 pounds
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to work as a team member as well as independently
- Proven track record of being prompt, dependable and good attendance
- Participate in the Safety monthly blood draw program if applicable
- Must be able to participate in the respiratory program and able to wear a respirator when safety needs dictates
- This position will be required to work 10-hour shifts, nights and/or weekends as job duties demand
- Must also pass post‐offer drug test, background check and other appropriate tests as required
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational or technical degree preferred
- AIDT Training strongly preferred
