Staff Accountant

STAFF ACCOUNTANT - GREAT OPPORTUNITY

The Staff Accountant at AMVAC, an American Vanguard Company, performs a variety of general accounting tasks to support the accounting department with monthly, quarterly, and year end close. Come join us at our corporate headquarters directly across from the Orange County airport. The ideal candidate has 3 years of experience in accounting, enjoys working in a fast-paced, team environment and is looking for a long-term opportunity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bank reconciliation for all US entities bank accounts
• Clear checks in the ERP system
• Set up new vendors
• Prepare monthly journal entries for additional entities
• Perform reconciliation for balance sheet accounts
• Assist with preparation of quarterly and year-end audit schedules
• Assist in interim and year-end audits both SOX and financial audits
• Compile and consolidate data and prepare various reports accurately and on-time
• Meet assigned goals and deadlines as required
• Support other team members and assist department staff with other tasks and responsibilities as requested

Skills & Qualifications:

• 3 years experience general accounting experience
• Strong Excel and computer skills
• Knowledge of QAD or other ERP system
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Must pass post offer background check

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
