Kennel Technician
AMVC-Prairie Hills Animal Hospital
Part-time-Some nights and weekends, hours vary depending on how full the boarding facility is.
Purpose: New state-of-the-art small animal practice and full-service boarding facility is seeking a full-time kennel technician to join our team. This position will provide day-to-day care of boarding facility.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers and communicate regularly in a professional, friendly manner
- Schedule boarders including intake and discharge
- Alert medical staff of any medical concerns regarding boarders
- Responsible for boarder enrichment
- Administer medications
- Care for animals including feeding, watering, and cleaning of eliminations
- Keep boarding facility clean and organized
- Assist in marketing of boarding facility
- Other duties as needed assigned by management
- Weekend animal care is required
Qualifications:
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and friendly disposition
- Organizational skills
- Experience in animal handling and proper care of animals preferred
- Previous experience in a boarding or kennel setting is preferred
