What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Evening Cashier position at AMVETS Thrift Stores?
AMVETS National Service Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that supports American Veterans through a variety of programs. AMVETS Thrift Store is currently seeking a hard working team member with a positive and motivated attitude at our Knoxville location on Seven Oaks Drive.
A Cashier is responsible for maintaining guest service as per company standard, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all Company Policy/Store standards.
Primary Duties:
- Ensure that each guest/patron receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions, and advertisements.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including pricing, loss prevention, and safe lifting techniques.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.
- Remove items left in dressing rooms and returning them to their appropriate areas of the store.
- Straighten or re-hang clothing that is not displayed appropriately on hangers.
- Maintain size order throughout each clothing department on the sales floor.
- Turn all clothing to face a uniform direction on the sales floor.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
- Ensure there are no hangers or store merchandise on the ground that may lead to a customer or employee accident.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the back sales floor, and production area.
- Assist guests and patrons while in the sales floor area, ensuring each patron receives outstanding guest service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every patron in need of assistance, and thanking each patron for supporting the Veterans.
- Communicate Guest requests to management.
- Answer store phone line and direct calls to appropriate extensions.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
- Ability to communicate with associates and guests.
- Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
- Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
- Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
