JOB SUMMARY
The housekeeping supervisor is a key individual in achieving the goals and quality standards of the housekeeping department. The housekeeping supervisor must impact all elements of the department from standards of cleanliness and associate morale to budgetary goals and inter-departmental relations.
- Bend, stoop, stand, and walk long distances for the duration of the shift

- Must be reliable; willing to work PM hours, weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written
- Ability to use the property management system, guestware, Microsoft excel/word required
- Able to use different types of chemicals
- Requires the ability to work independently and follow directions while supervising others
- To establish a high degree of excellence in the Housekeeping Department to include all assigned areas of the Hotel
- To be specifically concerned with Floor Supervisors, Room Attendants, Housemen, Public Area Cleaners, Uniform Room Attendants, and Turndown Attendants
- Primary operation of the housekeeping department on a day-to-day basis
- Having a working knowledge of all housekeeping cleaning equipment, chemicals, and preventive maintenance programs for such machines
- Responsible for training all associates on proper usage and handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Cleanliness of the public areas and outlets of the hotel under direct responsibility of the housekeeping department
- Supervise a team of 40
- Work closely with other departments, such as Engineering, Laundry, and the Front Desk to ensure guest satisfaction and 4 diamond quality
- Be specifically responsible for the cleanliness standards of all guest rooms, suites, corridors, and back-of-the-house storage rooms
- Ensure Front-of-the-House public area standards are excellent at all times
- Ensure all Floor Supervisors continually inspect assigned areas and have turned in inspections as well as meet a 96% cleanliness standard in guest rooms
- Ensure all reports are prepared correctly and on time
- Perform daily inspections of floor supervisor rooms
- Inspect housemen floors on a weekly basis
- Ensure that all associates are well trained
- Coach, council, and mentor department associates
- Adhere to and enforce rules and policies of the department and hotel
- Ensure proper key controls are in effect
- Take accurate linen inventory
- Complete weekly supply inventory
- Complete performance reviews on a monthly basis
- Review out-of-order rooms daily and ensure room type availability for arriving guests
- Give immediate response to all guest problems and correspondence
- Ensure Lost & found articles are stored properly and logs are maintained
- Train new hires in any role of the department
- Any and all assignments by housekeeping manager must be followed through
