Associate Underwriter Requirements

Associate Underwriter Requirements
- 1-3 years experience in an insurance support role
- High-level of motivation
- Innate organizational skills, willingness to take on challenges, and focus on personal responsibility

- Evaluates what needs to be completed by the centralized team for renewals
- Provides direction to centralized team to do Pre-Underwriting “processing” type tasks
- Review of information from centralized team
- Review and completes more involved evaluations on renewals for underwriters
- Completes renewal checklist for underwriters
- Drafts renewal information request letters to agents
- Meets with underwriters on a weekly basis to review renewal accounts
- Releases notices and/or renewal information request letters to agents after underwriters approval
- Requests initial rating subsequent to meeting with underwriters
- Does follow ups for renewal information from agents
- Review of renewal applications
- Requests re-rating if needed based on renewal information
- Issues billing and binding acknowledgements on renewal and new business
- Requests policy issuance on renewal and new business
- Completes auto filings where needed
- Handles endorsement requests within authority and refers others outside authority
- Completes quarterly peer audits
- Mentors/trains others where needed
- Other duties as assigned
