Pursuant to Chicago regulation, the compensation for this position is within the $65,000 - $67,500 annually range.
Overview
The Amwins SRU Development Program is designed to provide participants with comprehensive training and development for aspiring Underwriters in the insurance industry. Associate Underwriters will build advanced technical underwriting skills and be exposed to all elements of the Amwins Special Risk Underwriters programs. We will focus on expanding both the breadth and depth of participants’ knowledge and understanding of specialized catastrophic property risk analysis. This intensive multi-year program provides the opportunity for associates to develop the necessary skills and expertise to succeed in their roles and develop their career within the industry.
The program will extend offers annually to qualified individuals who are prepared to demonstrate a commitment to learning and quality execution of underwriting judgement and guidelines.
This position will be located in the Chicago, IL office on a daily basis.

The SRUDP guides associate underwriters through an intensive 3-year professional development program, in which candidates will participate in self-study coursework, technical and systems trainings, job shadowing and mentorship and networking within the industry.

Associates Will
- Learn the foundation of technical underwriting skills and acumen, focused on risk selection and evaluation.
- Acquire marketing skills for prospecting, qualifying and developing quality brokerage and agency relationships
- Learn and apply principles of client relationship management.

- Complete several online courses based on operational topics listed below
- Bachelor’s degree within any business-related field
- New to the industry or possess less than 12 months of experience as an Underwriting Associate.
