What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teachers position at Amy's Angels Child Care?
Responsibilities:
- Encourages age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts such as communication, sharing, and manners.
- Ensures children are learning positive behaviors and provides guidance and approved discipline or redirection, as needed.
- Use effective classroom management techniques to maintain discipline and promote a safe and inclusive space.
- Assess students' progress through daily observation and information about activities, meals, and other daily interactions are uploaded in Procare to share with parents.
- Interacts appropriately with children and provide age and developmentally appropriate activities.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding students' academic progress and behavior appropriately with guidance from the Director
- Develops a familiarity with and follows all NYS Office of Children and Family Services Regulations.
- Demonstrates decisiveness, patience, and stamina to care for children for 8 hours each day.
- Demonstrates dependability, flexibility, and consistency in work attendance. Rooms must stay in ratio and children need consistency in their classrooms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred but not required
- Child Development Associate will be required for a Lead teacher position but can be obtained while employed. Financial assistance available through the state.
- Experience working with children is required. Can include parenting and babysitting.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment techniques.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Understanding of child welfare and the importance of creating a supportive environment.
- Must be willing to be fingerprinted and submit to an extensive background check.
