Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Details:
We are looking for a skilled individual to develop work instructions and training materials for all of our packaging equipment. These materials will serve as essential tools to train our operators and mechanics, ensuring they can effectively and safely operate the equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical writing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to create user-friendly training resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed and clear work instructions for all packaging equipment.
- Create training materials that effectively support the learning of operators and mechanics.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and completeness of training content.
- Ensure all training materials are aligned with company safety protocols and best practices.
- Regularly update training resources to reflect new equipment or procedural changes.
- Assist in conducting training sessions or support the delivery of training to operators and mechanics.
Qualifications and Skills

Education
- Attending four-year college or university to attain an Engineering, Communication, Continuous Imprvoement, or Business Administration Bachelor's degree; or already awarded Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
Required Skills
- Analytical Reasoning: The ability to break down complex processes and equipment operations into clear, step-by-step instructions. This involves understanding technical details and being able to simplify them for a diverse audience (operators and mechanics).
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify challenges or potential issues in the equipment operation or existing training processes and then create solutions. For example, figuring out how to design materials that accommodate various learning styles or troubleshooting equipment instructions when something goes wrong.
- Attention to Detail: A keen ability to identify and account for every step in the process, ensuring no important information is missed in the training or work instructions. This ensures clarity and safety during equipment use.
- Critical Thinking: The ability to assess various training methods and determine the most effective approach for different equipment and skill levels. It also involves anticipating where operators or mechanics may encounter difficulty and providing guidance accordingly.
- Logical Reasoning: The ability to organize and structure information in a clear, logical way that is easy to follow. This would be important in creating work instructions that are intuitive and simple for operators and mechanics to execute.
- Systematic Thinking: Since they will be dealing with equipment that follows specific operational procedures, they need to understand and apply a systematic approach to writing instructions that align with each step of the machinery's function.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create, organize, and present training materials and work instructions effectively. Ability to use Excel for organizing data, Word for documentation, and PowerPoint for creating presentations that support training sessions.
