What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community health worker position at An Outpatient Mental Health Center?
Overview
We are seeking community health workers to support clients.
Responsibilities
Under the support of an appropriately licensed clinician (social worker, licensed professional counselor etc.):
- Meet with clients whether virtually, in clinic, in the community or at their homes to gather information regarding clients' needs, educate clients regarding diagnosed conditions, reinforce interventions, gather information and report to team regarding treatment compliance and response.
- Support client access to health, education, social, transportation, childcare, housing etc. resources as applicable.
- Conduct outreach efforts in the community, attend community fairs, host virtual fairs, manage social media outreach.
Certification
- Community worker certification by state of residence is required. (Training/ support in obtaining Maryland Community Worker Certification is provided.)
- Current Maryland community worker certification is preferred.
Experience
- A background (trainees/ students/interns) in social work, psychology, addictions counseling or employment in psychiatric technician, health care or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in social media management and marketing strategies is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience with mental health and/or addiction population is a plus but not mandatory.
Education
- High school graduate or GED is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.65 - $22.27 per hour
