Company Description:
Anaergia (TSX: ANRG), a global leader in offering sustainable solutions for the generation of renewable energy and the conversion of waste to resources, is in need of a full time Accounting Supervisor that can handle the following functions for non-projects segment as part of the North American Corporate Entities.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the NA Regional Controller and VP (Global) Controller and remits monthly and quarterly workpapers timely for review.
- Assists with month-end, quarter end & year-end close and audit requirements as needed.
- Prepares quarterly workpapers due to Corporate for Controller’s review for purposes of public reporting in Canada.
- Reviews monthly workpapers for payroll, intercompany billings, timesheet, expense reimbursement, insurance allocation, POC revenue recognition and others prepared by the Senior accountant attributable to the North American Corporate Entities.
- Reviews monthly intercompany timesheets and related billings.
- Reviews monthly intercompany billings for credit cards.
- Reviews monthly insurance allocations among multiple entities.
- Reviews monthly management fee calculations and related billings. Prepares monthly labor billings.
- Performs bank reconciliations related to the North American Corporate Entities.
- Monitors intercompany invoices for accuracy in presentation.
- Monitors labor costs of the North American Corporate Entities to ensure billable rates and intercompany bills are properly calculated and remitted in accordance with the terms of the Agreements.
- Reviews SG&A analysis reports, assists with quarterly Business Reviews for the North American Corporate entities.
- Reviews lease journal entries, payroll journal entries, and other monthly procedures related to the North American Corporate Entities.
- Ensures that processes within the North American Corporate entities are consistent amongst each other through the implementation of controls, standardized master workpapers and financial groupings.
- Assists with the reconciliation of intercompany bills and transactions.
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others at all levels, functions across the Company

- Advanced skills in Excel. Strongly proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint; Experience with Microsoft D365 a plus
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 4-8 years of accounting experience
- Experience with US GAAP & IFRS Application of new accounting standards preferred (e.g. leases)
- Experience in accounting with a publicly traded Company, preferred
- Experience in the construction and/or renewable energy industries, preferred
- Experience with percentage-pf-completion revenue recognition, preferred
- Exposure to global entities and teams including foreign currency transactions, multi-company and inter-company reconciliation, preferred
- CPA, preferred though not required
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Normal office conditions. Immediate team is based in Carlsbad, San Diego, California.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Able to work efficiently and accurately in fast-paced and dynamic environment.
