Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has a full-time opportunity for a Public Affairs Digital Organizer in Anaheim, CA. We are looking for a dynamic Community Organizer to support grassroots and political efforts to bolster PPOSBC’s leadership in advocacy, grassroots organizing, and public education, with a specific focus on BIPOC communities.

The ideal candidate will assist in developing and managing community outreach efforts to build a progressive activist base, helping to recruit, engage, and mobilize targeted constituencies around reproductive rights issues.   • Develop and execute digital campaign strategies to support the Community Action Fund (CAF) of PPOSBC’s advocacy and electoral efforts, with a particular focus on mobilizing the AAPI and Latinx communities in Orange and San Bernardino Counties.
  • Work collaboratively with the PPOSBC Digital Marketing Manager to ensure an effective and strong digital presence for all advocacy, organizing and electoral efforts.
  • Grow the CAF’s online presence across all digital platforms (website, social media, email) by creating compelling and timely content that uses messaging and language specifically designed to inspire people to act.
  • Collaborate with the advocacy team to develop online-to-offline organizing programs that leverage social media, email, and other digital tools to encourage supporters to take action.

You will craft compelling digital narratives and messaging that resonates with target audiences.

  • Create high-quality and engaging content (graphics, videos, blog posts) to educate and mobilize our online community.
  • Manage and cultivate a robust online community through list building, engagement strategies, and targeted digital calls to action, utilizing your understanding of compelling language to drive participation.
  • Utilize data-driven strategies to grow our base, segment our audience, and measure the effectiveness of our digital campaigns.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest digital trends and best practices, and recommend innovative ways to reach target audiences, with a focus on using language and storytelling to cut through online noise.
  • Train and support volunteers on storytelling techniques and best practices for online engagement, empowering them to use compelling messagingto advocate for our mission
  • Analyze website traffic and social media engagement metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the development and distribution of the CAF’s monthly newsletter, including copywriting and design, ensuring the content uses language that is both informative and inspiring.
  • Partner with the marketing department to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all digital channels.
  • Work with external vendors as needed to ensure the smooth operation of digital platforms.
  • Provide in-person event coverage through photo and video documentation.   Non-Essential Functions :

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA / BS) in a relevant field such as Political Science, Communications, or Marketing and / or the equivalent of 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in digital organizing in a legislative or electoral campaign environment.   Minimum Work Experience :
  • Minimum 2 years of experience creating high-quality digital content and campaigns that drive action.
  • Proven experience in digital organizing, social media management (including platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok), email marketing, and content creation (including crafting clear, concise, and engaging messaging that compels action).
  • This includes the ability to weave storytelling and narrative into digital strategy.

    1-2 campaign cycles or 1 year managing social media for an organization).

  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content for diverse audiences and a demonstrated understanding of how to use messaging and language to compel action.
  • Experience bridging the gap between grassroots organizing and digital strategy.
  • The ability to develop and execute strategic digital activities, including digital communication plans, content creation (including graphics and videos for social media), and digital actions (like online petitions and phone banks).
  • A solid understanding of web applications and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems (WordPress) and familiarity with digital organizing tools (EveryAction, Hustle, Mobilize, PDI).

    Experience with video editing software is a plus, as is knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere).

  • Experience growing an email list, capturing and tracking data (including social media analytics), and using that data to inform digital strategy and campaign optimization (including A / B testing and list segmentation).
  • Passion for Planned Parenthood’s mission and vision for reproductive justice.
  • A thoughtful and intersectional view of race, class, and gender.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and able to work long hours in a fast-paced environment.   Agency Standard Requirements :

  • Must demonstrate high-level computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Canva NGP / VAN is a plus.

  • This position requires travel to other sites and locations; if using a personal vehicle to meet this requirement, a valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.
