Duties:

Provide engineering support for new product introduction and mature product lines in volume production. Interface with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems as the product(s) move from design and development, to completion, release, and high-volume production. Define problems by identifying failure modes. Perform circuit analysis on a variety of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits by using electronic CAD tools and electrical lab equipment. Identify root cause of issues by performing data analysis, problem and material characterization, fault isolation, and physical failure analysis. Support product reliability qualification testing and analysis, and package qualification testing and analysis. Utilize precision measurement equipment and apply measurement techniques and tools required to establish different analog, power, RF, or digital performance metrics to evaluate and collect measurements of device operations. Assist in design of PCB for the evaluation of the product including schematic capture, layout and bill of materials. Design and debug evaluation kits, test boards and reference designs. Apply knowledge of test methodology to develop test solutions, considering testability, manufacturability, qualification readiness, and field quality, and regularly analyze test data results to identify and resolve performance and product issues. Support the development of technical data sheets, application notes and user guides for internal and external audiences for all phases of product development, production, and customer support.

Requirements:

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics, or closely related technical discipline (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 2 years of experience as a product engineer or related occupation performing mixed signal circuit evaluation and characterization.

Or in the alternative, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics, or closely related technical discipline (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 4 years of experience as a product engineer or related occupation performing mixed signal circuit evaluation and characterization.

Special skills:

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated Expertise (DE) utilizing software to control and automate bench test equipment using Python/Labview/Teststand and/or other programming languages.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of circuits that includes experience in analog circuits, RF circuits, signals and systems, ADCs, DACs, high speed serial interfaces, and microcontrollers.
  • DE performing circuit test, evaluation and characterization using bench test equipment including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
  • DE creating hardware test setups, developing software scripts, and analyzing data to find, test and resolve silicon functional and performance issues.
  • DE generating stimulus, collecting data and/or running simulations to validate the functionality of the algorithms using tools such as MATLAB.
