Job Description
A Failure Analysis Engineer is responsible for analyzing semiconductor IC samples to determine the root cause, using electrical, mechanical, and chemical procedures. This work will involve the use of various state-of-the-art analytical tools, processing the acquired data and information sets to arrive at a conclusion regarding the cause of failure.
Qualifications
- The candidate will have a BS / MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or other related engineering / science field.
- A qualified candidate will be able to work autonomously or at times or within a team, to analyze design, reliability, and Customer returns down to the root cause. Ability to read schematics and layout.
- Semiconductor emphasis, chemistry lab experience, and an understanding of how diode and transistor work - are all considered a plus
- Exceptional technical analysis skills with strong attention to details.
- Work well under pressure and capable of meeting strict deadlines
Responsibilities
For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and / or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
