Overview
NY-based hedge fund is seeking an experienced Fixed Income Engineer to develop and maintain high-performance technology solutions for fixed-income trading, risk management, and operations. The ideal candidate has strong software development expertise, financial industry experience, and exposure to modern technologies.
- Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development: Design, develop, and optimize scalable software for fixed-income trading, portfolio management, and risk analysis.
- Technology Integration: Integrate third-party APIs, data feeds, and trading platforms; work with cloud solutions (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Data Management: Build and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines; implement storage solutions using SQL, NoSQL, and distributed databases.
- System Architecture: Develop secure, scalable, and compliant trading analytics systems.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Mentor junior developers and work cross-functionally to deliver projects efficiently.
- Innovation: Stay updated on the latest technologies and propose solutions to enhance system performance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 8 years in fixed-income software development, preferably in financial services or hedge funds.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, or C .
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Strong SQL and experience with big data tools (Spark, Kafka).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
- Front-end development experience is a plus.
Financial Knowledge:
- Understanding of fixed income, trading strategies, and risk management.
- Experience with market data providers (Bloomberg, Markit).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with quantitative finance and fixed-income models.
- Knowledge of AI/machine learning applications in finance.
- Experience managing consultants
