Overview

NY-based hedge fund is seeking an experienced Fixed Income Engineer to develop and maintain high-performance technology solutions for fixed-income trading, risk management, and operations. The ideal candidate has strong software development expertise, financial industry experience, and exposure to modern technologies.

Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development : Design, develop, and optimize scalable software for fixed-income trading, portfolio management, and risk analysis.
Technology Integration : Integrate third-party APIs, data feeds, and trading platforms; work with cloud solutions (GCP, AWS, Azure).
Data Management : Build and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines; implement storage solutions using SQL, NoSQL, and distributed databases.
System Architecture : Develop secure, scalable, and compliant trading analytics systems.
Collaboration & Leadership : Mentor junior developers and work cross-functionally to deliver projects efficiently.
Innovation : Stay updated on the latest technologies and propose solutions to enhance system performance.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience : 8 years in fixed-income software development, preferably in financial services or hedge funds.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, or C .

Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).

Strong SQL and experience with big data tools (Spark, Kafka).

Familiarity with DevOps tools (CI / CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).

Front-end development experience is a plus.

Financial Knowledge :

Understanding of fixed income, trading strategies, and risk management.

Experience with market data providers (Bloomberg, Markit).

Soft Skills :

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with quantitative finance and fixed-income models.

Knowledge of AI / machine learning applications in finance.

Experience managing consultants
