The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations (FEMO) supports the requirements of the Engineering and Technical Support Services (ETSS) contract. The engineering and technical expertise is necessary to support facility work which enables flight research and airborne science at AFRC. The objective of the ETSS Task Order 5 (FEMO) is to modify, maintain, and operate Center facilities and infrastructure in support of changing mission requirements while minimizing adverse impact to research operations and employees, and while complying with Federal, State, local, and NASA regulations and requirements.
Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc., (AMA) has been awarded the ETSS Task Order 5 (FEMO) contract and we are looking forward to providing qualified personnel to perform facility work including project engineering, planning, design, construction, management, operations, maintenance, and energy conservation. We are currently looking to hire a Building Engineering Technician IV. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000. Salaries are commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic locations. This position is subject to drug testing. Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Task Order 5 shall provide engineering technician expertise necessary to write facility work documents and advise FEMO engineers, architects, and operations specialists on strategies and best practices as well as perform quality assurance across all phases of the construction project lifecycle An ideal candidate will possess operational knowledge of facilities, including high voltage systems and core infrastructure equipment, in order to evaluate design plans for upgrade and maintenance projects, perform testing for closeout and the turnover phases and ensure smooth facility operations throughout construction activities.
Performs specialized engineering work related to building and facilities operations and maintenance. Areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to, activities related to the maintenance, repair and modification of equipment, controls/communications, electrical/electronic systems, HVAC, or mechanical devices and equipment. Troubleshoots the more complex system outages and provides second tier support to more junior staff. Controls inventory of spare parts to provide maximum uptime on all equipment. Assists in the development of maintenance programs and performs routine preventive maintenance according to plan. Advises management on building / facility engineering matters, including compliance with federal/state laws and regulations. May participate in preparing, negotiating and administering contracts for specialized facilities maintenance work. May be required to travel to field sites for facility maintenance purposes.
