AMA is seeking to hire an AI Intern at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. Remote work may be considered for those not already in the area. This position will require training a low-rank adaption (LoRA) and developing a retrieval augmented generation (RAG) system for the second-generation aircraft noise prediction program (ANOPP2). ANOPP2 is a suite of software including several hundreds of routines in an API that is available in Linux and Windows and several executables some of which also run in a parallel via MPI. This internship will be 10 weeks, starting June 2, 2025.
The pay range for this position is $24.33-33.50/hr depending on education, experience and location.

Responsibilities
- Parsing the API, executables, and documentation of ANOPP2 to create training data then training the LoRA including regression testing.
- Creating a RAG that leverages the user input and the LoRA to provide tailored responses to the user’s query in order to deploying the LoRA.
- Must be pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Requirements include preferred previous AI/ML experience, LoRA and RAG if possible. And Fortran/C /Python experience would be good but not necessary (except maybe python).
