About The Role
The overall responsibilities of the laboratory analyst include independently conducting routine
and non-routine analyses of geological samples.

About You
Strong analytical skills and wet assay techniques;
Diploma/Degree in Chemical Sciences or Technology, or BCIT Certificate Preferred or a
Minimum of 2-year laboratory work experience in analytical chemistry, instrumentation or a
Geochemistry related field preferred.

About The Role
The overall responsibilities of the laboratory analyst include independently conducting routine
and non-routine analyses of geological samples.
Responsibilities
- Operate and perform maintenance on ICP, AA & SIE instruments;
- Perform wet assay analytical works including gravimetric and volumetric analyses;
- Perform Umpire and Control analyses;
- Prepare sample dilutions, instrument operating solutions and calibration standards;
- Test and evaluate calibration standards;
- Identify and correct QC related problems by ensuring the quality of the analytical data meets
- Organize workload according to daily stats and turnaround commitments in the absence of T3,
- Follow up on rush priority work orders;
- Effectively liaise within department to communicate safety, quality and operational issues;
- Ensure all work instructions and standard working procedures are strictly adhered to;
- In conjunction with the supervisor, perform tests to modify and improve analytical procedures;
- Maintain and organize equipment and other ISO document records;
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety requirements within the
About You
Strong analytical skills and wet assay techniques;
- Quality focused individual; Commitment to Excellence, Team Leader
- Organized, highly motivated, detail oriented and able to work both independently and as part of
- Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues;
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal);
- Strong MS Office skills, specifically MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Diploma/Degree in Chemical Sciences or Technology, or BCIT Certificate Preferred or a
Minimum of 2-year laboratory work experience in analytical chemistry, instrumentation or a
Geochemistry related field preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours per shift;
- Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks;
- Able to lift up to 20 litre containers.
