**Job Summary: ** We are looking for a proactive and skilled Windows System Engineer specializing in Active Directory, Terminal Services, and Windows system administration to become part of our IT team. In this position, you will design, implement, and maintain Windows-based server infrastructures, emphasizing Active Directory, Terminal Services, server security, server hardening, DHCP, file shares, and automation through scripting. You will collaborate closely with fellow IT professionals to ensure enterprise environments seamless operation, security, and scalability while delivering expert-level support for system administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active Directory Management: This involves designing, implementing, and managing Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including domain controllers, organizational units (OUs), and group policies (GPOs).
- Manage Active Directory replication, user authentication, and Group Policy to secure and control user permissions throughout the network.
- Troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues concerning Active Directory, including trust relationships, replication problems, and security issues.
- Manage and enhance the Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Services) infrastructure, which includes configuring and maintaining Remote Desktop Session Hosts (RDSH), Remote Desktop Gateway, and RemoteApp applications.
- Design, implement, and support Terminal Services environments, ensuring secure and seamless remote access for end users.
- General Windows Server Administration: Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019/2022), including server installation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
- Plan and execute Windows updates on various servers and workstations, ensuring that systems remain secure, current, and compliant with company policies.
- Ensure server security by regularly patching, hardening systems, and following best practices for securing Windows Servers and critical systems.
- Perform server hardening to reduce vulnerabilities by applying security controls, configuring security settings, and auditing server configurations.
- Manage Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) services, ensuring proper network configuration and IP address management across the organization.
- Administer file shares and file server environments, ensuring access control, proper permissions, and secure file storage solutions.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery processes, ensuring critical data is consistently protected.
- Implement and manage Virtualization technologies (such as VMware or Hyper-V) to host Windows-based environments and optimize server utilization.
- Automate system tasks and processes through PowerShell scripting or other automation tools to streamline workflows and ensure system consistency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, diagnosing issues related to server infrastructure, security, DHCP, and file share services.
- Collaborate with security and network teams to integrate and enforce security policies for Active Directory, Terminal Services, and Windows server infrastructures.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for Active Directory and Terminal Services environments.
- Assist end users by offering expert troubleshooting and guidance on Windows Server, Active Directory, and Terminal Services issues.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, focusing on server administration, security practices, and automation scripts.
- Stay current on industry best practices, Microsoft technologies, and new Active Directory, Terminal Services, Windows Server, and server security features.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience with Active Directory administration, including user account management, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), replication, and trusts.
- Strong experience in Remote Desktop Services (RDS)/Terminal Services, including session management, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) and Windows desktop operating systems.
- Expertise in Windows update planning and implementation, ensuring timely and secure updates across servers and desktops.
- Experience in server security and hardening, applying best practices, and troubleshooting security-related issues.
- Knowledge of DHCP configuration and management for network address allocation.
- Proficiency with file shares and server administration, ensuring proper access controls and data security.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for administrative tasks, updates, and system configuration automation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across multiple platforms.
- Understanding of network protocols and security policies specific to Windows-based environments.
- Exposure to additional scripting languages or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
