Overview :

MULTIPLE LOCATION : Anderson SC Lock Haven PA :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to lead complex control system projects, assist maintenance teams, and mentor and supervise control technicians. This role involves specifying, designing, and implementing advanced control systems, troubleshooting equipment issues, and driving performance improvements across production equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and innovation.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Team Management :

Supervise, mentor, and train control technicians, assigning work, setting priorities, and monitoring performance.

Provide technical guidance and coaching to enhance troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Lead and support cross-functional teams, including internal technicians, engineers, maintenance, production personnel, OEMs, vendors, and contractors.

Control Systems Design & Implementation :

Specify, design, and implement control systems, including PLCs, DCSs, HMIs, servo systems, motors, drives, sensors, vision systems, and data collection software, in line with company standards.

Lead new equipment installations, upgrades, and process control implementations, including electrical component selection, programming, testing, and troubleshooting.

Develop and modify complex programs and schematics to improve equipment and system performance.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving :

Perform high-level troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and process systems, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and servo systems.

Utilize internal and external resources to diagnose and resolve equipment and programming issues efficiently.

Analyze equipment data, event logs, and operator feedback to identify inefficiencies, root causes, and trends.

Data Integration & Analysis :

Integrate production and lab equipment into the plant network and maintain data historian systems.

Coordinate data collection and archiving, and assist in analyzing performance metrics for system optimization.

Project Management :

Lead and execute small capital projects from planning to completion.

Assist in project forecasting and budgeting, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Collaborate with IT to integrate machine communication networks into the plant systems.

Training & Documentation :

Organize and provide training for technicians and other personnel on new equipment and troubleshooting techniques.

Develop safety procedures, including lockout / tagout protocols, for operations and maintenance.

Maintain and organize equipment documentation, including schematics, guides, and OEM documents.

Continuous Improvement :

Proactively identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and production efficiency.

Stay updated on new control technologies, safety regulations, and industry trends.

Recommend and implement new standards and practices to optimize machine controls and team effectiveness.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience : Minimum of 1-year industrial controls experience, with advanced knowledge of electrical theory and controls hardware / software.

Technical Skills :

Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Skilled in servo systems, HMI programming, and networking platforms.

Familiar with AutoCAD for schematic design and modification.

Experienced with integrating machine communication networks and maintaining data historian systems.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills for problem-solving and data analysis.

Soft Skills :

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergencies.

Industry Knowledge :

Familiarity with product specifications, quality goals, efficiency metrics, and production processes.
