POSITION SUMMARY
ANASEC is seeking an experienced professional to work as a Field Investigator to conduct full-scope background investigations for a U.S. Government Law Enforcement Agency on sworn and civilian applicants as assigned by the agency’s Background Investigations Coordinator. Salary: $75, 000 to $85, 000 Based on Experience, Plus a $100 Bi-Weekly Commuting Stipend
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Gather background data, interview the subject, interpret, analyze, and evaluate results from polygraph, psychological, and medical examinations.
· Determine the information or evidence required to make a judgement as well as the best approach to obtain information.
· Interview applicants and/or officials or individuals such as spouses, employers, relatives, friends, acquaintances, and law enforcement agency officials.
· Prepare a report of findings for investigative findings for cases that include formal analysis and information.
· Interviews to be conducted telephonically or via on-line interviews (Zoom, WEBEX, Microsoft Team). Some investigations may be conducted in local areas. Minimal travel required.
· Submit a formal report of investigation in the format provided by the agency.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
· A High School Diploma or GED.
· At least two (2) years of specialized experience as a Background Investigator or Criminal Investigator.
· At least five (5) years of general experience in adjudicative and investigative support.
· Trained by an approved or recognized training program (e.g., Federal Background Investigator Training Program (FBITP) or state or local law enforcement training program).
· Knowledgeable about all applicable local, state, and federal fraud statutes.
· The ability to conduct investigative interviews and to conduct investigations requiring a high degree of skill for varied personnel security investigations and work to ensure suitability for employees based upon established security guidelines. Must be
· The ability to gather background data and draft a report of findings for investigative cases.
· Proficient and experience with automated technology such as eSOPH, POBITS, LinX, WALES, NCIC, Equifax, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Internet, and email.
· Possess excellent writing skills.
· Must pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint check.
· Job Type: Full-Time on site in Washington, DC, Monday through Friday.
