We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Laboratory Technician. This entry-level position provides the opportunity to support chemists in a fast-paced laboratory environment. No prior laboratory experience is required, though a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn are essential.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will assist with various laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, data collection, and lab maintenance, while ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and relevant regulatory standards. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in scientific research and laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist chemists with sample preparation, including weighing and preparing soil samples for analysis.
- Input test results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) accurately.
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment under guidance to generate reliable data.
- Support general lab maintenance, including keeping track of chemical inventories and supplies.
- Ensure lab cleanliness and maintain daily logs of laboratory activities and equipment.
- Assist with the troubleshooting and basic maintenance of laboratory instruments.
- Greet visitors and customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Answer phone calls and provide general administrative support as needed.
- Handle hazardous materials safely, including biological samples (e.g., wastewater treatment samples) and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, lab coats, and hoods will be provided.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working with hazardous materials and chemicals in a lab environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
