Tax Preparer (Seasonal)

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations and accounting principles, with the ability to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses. This role requires excellent analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy in tax preparation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
• Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and provide guidance on tax-related issues.
• Review financial statements and supporting documents to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Utilize accounting software, including Sage, to manage financial records effectively.
• Perform clerical duties such as data entry and maintaining organized records.
• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation for tax preparation.
• Conduct thorough reviews of completed returns for accuracy before submission.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and corporate accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage and other financial software tools.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work output.
• Effective communication skills to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple client files simultaneously.
• Previous experience in a tax preparation or accounting role is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $14.34 - $16.70 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
