Anchor Academic Center of Excellence, Inc. is a year-round private Christian K-12 and post-graduate school for students with diverse disabilities and needs. Anchor Academic Center of Excellence is currently looking for a teacher.
Teacher duties and responsibilities:
- Create and execute lessons plans and explore supplemental resources.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons plans and projects.
- Develop and adapt teaching practices, materials, and special equipment to create an interesting learning environment that meets the needs and learning styles of each student.
- Plan and execute educational in- class and outdoor activities and events.
- Encourage students to explore learning opportunities, daily living skills, and career paths.
- Provide students with one-on-one support when they need extra help or attention.
- Assess, track, and evaluate students’ academic progress.
- Maintain positive relationships and communication with students, parents, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Lead parent-teacher meetings and communicate student progress.
- Create a safe and respectful classroom environment.
- Establish and enforce rules of conduct for students in the classroom.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Ability to demonstrate confidence and competence in a leadership position.
A bachelor’s degree or higher is required, with 1 years as a teacher or 3 years in a related field. Teaching Certificate is preferred. Required Level II Background clearance required. This is a Part-Time position.
