Hours : 8 hours per day with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
Salary : Per Bargaining Agreement
Qualificiations :
- Excellent knowledge of and ability to effectively operate instructional software such as PowerSchool.
- Excellent knowledge and ability to use word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
- Excellent communication skills with a good command of the English language both oral and written.
- Basic math skills.
- Demonstrated history of exemplary customer service skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work professionally with staff, students, and visitors.
- Have demonstrated professionalism through good attendance and punctuality during employment history.
- Have successfully earned a Bachelor or Associate degree from an accredited college or university or have taken the ETS Para Pro Assessment with a score of 460 or higher, as mandated by the Michigan Department of Education.
- Take and pass a district data para test.
- Demonstrate competency and have ability to oversee medical needs of students, including testing blood sugar level and administering insulin. Training will be provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to calculate figures and amounts; ability to compute percentages and to interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Personal computer skills necessary. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
