Monday - Friday: 8am to 4pm OR 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
Description
The Day Support Professional will provide clients with education and training to assist them with acquiring the skills and experience needed to participate in the community and day program, consistent with each client’s service plan. This may include activities to support clients with building problem-solving skills, self-help, social skills, adaptive skills, daily living skills, and leisure skills. The Day Support Professional engages clients in small or large group outings to the community, leisure, educational activities, and community experiences. Day Support Professionals assist in the implementation of approved behavioral strategies/plans, education, skill development, training clients as indicated, nurturing social skills, data collection, and direct support.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide personal care, assistance, and skill development training consistent with the needs of clients in the day habilitation program
- Work collaboratively with all staff
- Teach and implement groups, as assigned within the day habilitation program.
- Assist in the development of weekly activity schedules and community-based activities based on individual preferences and needs
- Assist clients with the transition to and from the day habilitation program
