Duties & Responsibilities:
As an RN Unit Manager, you will:
- Assist the DON and ADON in evaluating and directing daily nursing operations in compliance with current regulations.
- Ensure nursing staff adheres to job descriptions and facility policies.
- Handle complaints and grievances, escalating reports to the Director of Nursing Services as necessary.
- Utilize leadership skills to manage the assigned unit effectively.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adequate staffing for 24/7 nursing care while minimizing overtime and agency usage.
- Implement progressive counseling and recommend disciplinary actions as needed.
- Provide professional guidance and supervision to unit staff.
- Attend committee meetings and participate in quality assurance activities.
- Teach and evaluate nursing skills, ensuring high standards of resident care.
- Oversee the completion of MDS on the unit.
- Develop and implement discharge plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Manage budgets, prepare reports, and participate in staff recruitment.
- Promote a caring atmosphere, respecting residents' needs and rights.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid New Jersey RN License.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
