Responsibilities:
- Your primary responsibility is to accurately estimate the cost of commercial construction projects. This includes determining the cost of materials, labor, equipment, and any additional expenses required for the project.
- You will analyze architectural and engineering blueprints to understand the scope of the project and identify the necessary materials and construction methods. This will help you create a comprehensive cost estimate.
- Ensure that the cost estimates align with the project requirements and design intent. Your input may be necessary to make cost-effective design decisions.
- You will collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and labor. This may involve requesting quotes, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 3 years in a mid-level estimating role.
- Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive estimates for construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimating techniques.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
