What are the responsibilities and job description for the SCHEDULER/PLANNER position at ANCHOR FABRICATION MS?
Job Summary: The Scheduler/Planner coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules, working with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates, monitoring inventory levels and solving production issues.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectations
- Analyze and prepare documents needed for production
- Data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand
- Create production schedule and prioritize job orders for production optimization
- Maintain the production schedule and other reports as required
- Follow up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectations
- Complete status reports for production progress, work in progress, and raw material inventory
- Interact with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products; very strong computer skills required
- Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills required
- Detail oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines is a must
- Good customer service/phone skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities
- Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems, taking into consideration resources, constraints and organizational values
- Demonstrate personal time management skills
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all employees and at all levels of management
- Demonstrated punctual and dependable performance
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- At least one year experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least one year of MRP system experience
- APICS Certification preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Considerable sitting and use of keyboard
- Moderate amount of time walking, talking, hearing and grasping
- Occasional amount of time standing, stooping, sorting and filing
