Anchor Fabrication has immediate openings for highly motivated Sandblaster’s in our Coatings department.
Position Summary:
The Sandblaster’s role is to use various blast media and blasting equipment to prepare parts and assemblies for coating, meeting or exceeding customer specs and productivity requirements by ensuring correct media and equipment settings. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Internal Relationships: All Departments
External Relationships: Occasional and incidental contact with customers or prospective customers

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal for painting, which includes sandblasting, and wiping down steel to remove oil and cutting fluids.
- Use measurement devices to measure & record sandblast profile
- Perform daily maintenance routines on blast equipment
- Clean blast booth, lights, and change filters
- Follow safe operating and lifting procedures
- Wear proper safety equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent demonstrated ability to read, write and perform basic math calculations.
- 1 or more year experience blasting in a production/Industrial environment.
- Ability to read tape measure digital and analog profiler and other handheld measuring tools
- Knowledge of metal alloys various blast media and their properties (desired qualification)
Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:
This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
- Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
- Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
