Job Summary
Manages the activities of forming personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function. Maintain plant standards and meet plant goals. Oversees manufacturing process including glass delivery, forming, coding and product quality. Supervises and coordinates the work of employees who set-up glass container forming machines and related equipment. Manages the process conversions related to glass container forming.
MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage production activities to achieve high efficiency and quality on all units assigned.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures relating to Safety, Quality and productivity.
- Coordinate machines, and job change activities including discussing tonnages, Developing best day history, monitor ware handling with machine repair and quality control to correct and report findings.
- Provide necessary training and development for all personnel to improve and upgrade technical skills.
- Communicate the company’s established goals to all departments and employees. Conduct regular job change, planning and problem-solving meetings.
- Maintain an effective preventative maintenance program.
- Resolve production problems such as ware defects, glass conditioning and equipment problems to maintain maxim operating and quality efficiencies.
- Shall have an awareness of the Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP Principles and Food Safety Standard.
- Responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s). Designated personnel shall have defined responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions.
- Direct and control set-up glass container manufacturing equipment.
- Supervise the installation of equipment related to the product line being put in production.
- Assure that all equipment related to glass conditioning is with specifications for new items.
- Planning for equipment installation for process conversions.
EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Glass Experience preferred or 4-6 equivalent years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Office software.
- Familiar with a variety of maintenance concepts, practices and procedures.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
