Position Summary :
Operates industrial trucks, circulating through warehouse, production or plant roadway areas : pick up pallets of material, miscellaneous equipment, supplies, cullet, packing material, dock plates, etc. and delivers to specified locations (production facility, freight car or trailer, storage area) as directed . Locates ware transferred from a knowledge of storage locations, load of diagrams, routine schedule or as directed by dispatcher or supervisor.
Operates truck in safe manner with proper observance of all rules and regulation; exercising care not to damage materials, endanger personnel or mis-use equipment. Use lift trucks mechanism or attachment to transfer, stack, tow or push pallets, ware, cullet, machinery, etc. Move and position heavy equipment and machinery such as packing line equipment and racking
Handles work associated with truck driving such as manually load, unload or straighten up material on pallets; operates banding or tying equipment; maintains a simple count or identifies material handled.
Delivers truck for periodic preventive maintenance, refueling or re-charging as indicated. Report truck operational difficulties and assists to replace batteries or make service checks for oil, water and general operating efficiency of truck
Operators coolant apparatus and maintain required records.
May be called upon to perform a function that results in the generation of hazardous waste, and therefore may be required to attend relevant RCRA training.
Job Requirements :
- Possess high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to move 75lbs
- Factory floor environment
