Position Summary:
- Inspects a variety of ware at any stage for all types of visual, dimensional and glass quality defect using limit samples, gauges and written specifications.
- Inspects ware visually for seeds, stones , checks, laps, warp, wary rim, poor firepolish, reboil; also for decorating defects including overlap, smear, color non-uniformity, skips, pinholes, plugged screen, overspray, poor making, handling defects and all other visual defects using ware specification, limit samples, etc.
- Inspects ware for dimensional conformance to specifications using such devices as dial gauges, thickness gauges, go-no-go, feeler gauges and flat plate.
- Sets up gauges by using thumb screws to obtain measurements within specified tolerances.
- Marks the rejected and salvageable faults on the ware with marking crayon according to specified procedures. May re-inspect ware.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results including number of pieces rejected, type of ware rejected, reason for rejecting, making appropriate forms as instructed. Interprets specifications, blue prints, sketches, photographs etc. as required or instructed.
- Wipes, wrap and pack ware using cloth, wrapping paper and/or plastic, cardboard, pads, spacers, dividers, packing cartons .
- Operators switches ,foot pedals , etc. on packing machines , stitches , etc.
- Operates drop tester and thermal shock tester.
Job Requirements:
- Possess high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to move 75lbs
- Factory floor environment
